Unforgettable Page in My Diary

THE BEGINNING

Eh_ Kancha....
Malie Phulko Tara Kasiedu na.....
Tyo Tara matara hoena juun pani jariee deula ...

Eh_ Kancha, Eh _Kancha..!!!

You are right; this is classical folk Nepali song. Is it in radio, tele or from any digital equipment? Or something in real.
No actual guess, still very mind boggling, I guess!
We could try one more time - may be in deed real life song.
Yes! You are absolutely right. At about 8-ish on Sunday, April 27th, 2008 in a small beautiful city of Australia know Adelaide at Norwood Hall, we heartily felt this song.

WELCOMING PRASHANT TAMANG TO ADELAIDE

Mr. Tamang, Prashant is known throughout the globe as the 'Indian Idol'- not only his versatility but also the simplicity and humble nature has made him more mark to the fame. He who enjoys the music and likes to be known as Singer and 'The Ambassador for Nepal' - it's the way he is SIMPLE & EASE.

I would like to share some of the contents from my diary, which indeed is great lesson for all of us.

One of my close mate from Melbourne passed on the information that Sonu Niigam and Prashant Tamang would be coming for"Live Concert" which I did not want to miss out on. Being a close admirer of Sonu jee and Prashant the well known 'Indian Idol' , I was very keen and excited then spoke straight away to Deepak Da- Who is the founder and managing director of Sagarmatha Companies. The enthusiasm was so enormous as this participation of organizing the event in Adelaide would be for a noble cause to raise fund for " The Olivia Newton- John Cancer Centre Appeal.

Meeting many people crossing all the hurdles finally Sagarmatha & VIS became the close partner of Charindaa to organize as its own.

Despite small Nepalese community in Adelaide, the response was amazing and highly appreciated. To thank all our people we entered the doorstep of artists' busy schedule and organized a precious time frame of social interaction with Nepali people.

THE LIVE CONCERT NITE

As usual the program started. As planned, our in house - media team was to capture all the remarkable & memorable moments but unfortunately artist had already signed with Sony which was not in the hand of executive committee.
The spirit of drive and the commitment of hardship, enabled us to capture those moments for our community via entry to the VIP room

The program was about to start and I was so excited. Oh my God! Can you believe this ? It was just like pear shape when to my surprise found the Camera showed 'No Power' .
My mind bounced out even though it was not my first experienced. That day onward I realized that preparation is not enough for the test and final REVIEW is the most essential thing need to be done before hand
In a fix I jumped of my seat and headed out, not soon I realized that none of the stores were opened. Can you imagine!! Thank God! As every fairy tale has a happy ending, I had my way out luckily to grab the opportunity to present you all with these pictures.

First half interval performance of Prashant did not focus on Nepal, as people were actually excited to hear him sing a Nepali song. Knowing that, Mr Bista , Deepak and myself went to see the real hero for a short catch up and passed him the communities good vibe. Step on the door, Prashant welcomes by 'Namastae' and pleasant smile, which I would never forget . He gave a feeling as if we knew and meet after a long time.

From the bottom of heart, we welcome him again to Australia - Adelaide and relay message that everyone was enthusiastic and happy as he could feel the community stance.

SONU NIGAMS' VERSATILITY

Gradually, the program was picking up and it was time for Sonu Jee to come up. Right from the starting only he 'Dabba- Strong Promise' that this event should be the most memorable in our whole life which in deed he prove it as well. The track from "Deewana" and remixing the composition of the original song "Tumsay milkay dilka yeah hal kaya karay ...." With some of the golden songs like "Tuu jaha jaaaha Chalega ..Mera saya sath hoga ..." really proved his versatility.

The final announcement of Prashant marked the evening, after the original song of Himesh Reshammiya from film Gangster - "ya ali rahamwali , yaar pay kurban hay sabie"

Then he dedicates one of the Nepali song "Yeah Kancha "which made us feel that we can't stay in folding our hands. Though it was a kind of Classical folk but we all rock it out as it was directly from his bottom of the heart, which penetrates into ours.

Seeing the ample excitement of all people, Prashants' simplicity brought him forward to join for a group photograph despite tight security.

His small gesture of simplicity encouraged us to welcome him to Sagarmatha. Inviting with confident, we heard another humble gesture from great artist Prashant "Yeah, I am free this evening", had no boundaries of joy to all of us.

After organizing at Sagarmatha Restaurant we rushed to Hyatt at around 7-ish, we waited in excitement gave couple of calls, left messages and surprisingly no one was able to track him down.
Oh my God! Another very fearful moment came across despite this time reviewing all before the test, Deepak da and Raju Dai were all silent and not knowing what next. Thank God, yet another fairy tale had a happy ending, we finally located him, he was nowhere but in his room in a deep sleep coz of continuous live concert in Sydney and Melbourne.

PRASHANTS' JOURNEY TO SAGARMATHA

His Journey to Sagarmatha, his gentle talk, interaction with people openly was really grateful.
Program started as a warm welcome given by Deepak da followed by a token of love presented to him.
The welcome song and the Nepalese touching song "Aagani bhari by Palden and Aashish." moreover the Tamang dresses wore by Binita di and Durga made him feel the countryside and he came forward in the front and picked up guitar. Everyone was glad to heartily welcome him.

THE FINAL DEPARTURE

Really his gentle words and the humble nature made us all feel that we will be "missing him not as an Artist or Nepalese but as our own member of family..." Aaama and Buwa they are extremely please to meet with Prashant. On the very last moment Aaama told that "All the best for your coming days and babu ( oh my son ! ) try to smile always in your life, which were most touchable words. Yes she was absolutely true" Smile is the only best dress we wear".
He was very pleased with the golden moments we shared together which neither he would forget.

REALISING THE GEM

At the hotel we also had a quick chat with Mrs. Niigam and Sonu jee. Where they were unable to come to Sagarmatha due to busy schedule. We sat together have some of talk and request Prashant to go in his room as he have early flight heading to Malaysia. As we were about to leave Hyatt. We meet director –Mr. Sharma, thanked him for organizing the time for Prashant to meet with us.
He personally thanked us and said that you guys should be very proud that he is driving the whole Nepalese community. In fact, he is a"GEM" which also proves that in front of senior artist Sonu jee he got the opportunity to explore his hidden talents.

When we came back to Sagarmatha restaurant. Even though he was not there but still we feel that his positive and simple good vibe is everywhere. Everyone was discussing about his attributes. Many autobiographs' he has filled with an open heart. But the most touchable was when Buba told me that "Do you know what autograph Prashant gave in his"Nepali Dhaka Topi' which he was wearing .To be honest, I was so curious to know and said No idea. It was simply written their "Buba liee shir maa dhog "( means , a warm heartily respect to Buwa) which no human words can describe his feelings and gentleness.

Great appreciation goes to his mother who indeed gave him culture, tradition and the moral values.
We "Salute" on her lotus feet of her and our country Nepal to give birth to souls' like SIMPLE & HUMBLE PRASHANT.

Still to come! There was no enough space to fill in the pride we feel to have a great personality around us.

Just preciously concluding in the lines of Shakespeare:

'His life is so gentle, And the element so mixed in him that nature might stand up and say to all world -"This is a Man"
